I. Help on Search
When you Search or Browse the Roba on-line database of titles and writers, you will be accessing information about the best, most popular and most significant songs and writers in our catalog. If there is something specific that you are hoping to find -- and if you are unable to find it when you search -- it is possible that the particular song or composition you want is unavailable via an on-line search at this time. Another reason could be that you have used a search criterion that is too narrow to obtain the exact match you had hoped to find. Try the following suggestions, keeping this age-old wisdom in mind:
If at first you don't succeed...try altering the search criteria. To improve the chances of finding what you want, consider these suggestions:
When using keyword(s), try to use only the most unique ones. In the world of popular songs, the word "love" is very common. If you enter the word "love" as a keyword -- whether in the title or in the body of the lyrics -- you will get a list of songs that may be too comprehensive to be of practical use in your search for the right one.
While we encourage you to use the various search options to identify a particular song, we would advise you NOT to combine too many search options if you are uncertain of the exact title and writer of a particular song. If you are uncertain of the title and writer, and you begin entering strict search criteria, you will probably not find any matches when the search is completed.
If you already know that you want songs written by a particular writer, narrow your search by adding more options. For instance:
Songwriter -- Denise Rich -- combined with Decade -- 1990s -- and Chart. Searching by those three criteria will provide you with a list of songs written by Denise Rich which appeared on the Pop charts in the 1990s. However, if you enter Decade -- 1920s -- with the other two Denise Rich search criteria, you will not find anything written by Denise Rich decades before she was born. It's logical.
While you explore the possibilities of the site and get the hang of using it, there's no reason not to use the drop-down menus under each search category. Decade, Genre, Year and especially Subject, have been designed to provide you with a range of choices that might prove to be entertaining and enlightening, even as you work the site to find exactly the right music for your project. You can also try Browsing. It's free, and it may inspire you with ideas you hadn't considered when you first began your search. For a different approach, try Browsing.
You may find ideas you hadn't thought of.
2. Help on projects
What are Projects
Projects are folders that help keep your song selections organized into logical groups. When you select a song from Roba's Online Library you can then save that selection to a project folder. Each project you create can be named and organized anyway that suites your personal or business needs.
There are no limits to how many songs you can save to a project just as there are no limits to how many project folders you can create per account.
How to Use Projects
Projects can be organized by individual jobs such as folders for several commercials. Larger jobs such as full-length motion pictures can always be broken down into separate project folders where each folder represents the selections for an individual scene.
Projects can be created or deleted at any time. Songs can be added to your project from any where within our Online Music Library. You can add or delete songs from any project as needed.
Tutorial: Creating a Project
To create a new project mouse click on the "Add New Project" link located at the top the page within "My Project" area..
You will then be presented with a screen so that you can enter the name of your project and a description. Your new project will be placed within the project list.
3. License Request
In order to use our music in motion pictures, television programs, commercials, etc., you'll have to obtain a license for each type of use. One of the main reasons for creating our E-licensing/B2B website is to enable you to find exactly the right type of music you need for your project and to make the licensing process as easy for you as possible. Using the Search function helps you find the song you want. A License Request button, next to each song title in the system, starts the licensing process.
After you press the "LICENSE REQUEST" button the data will be sent to us.
After you had pressed the "SAVE TO PROJECT" button, the Song will added to your selected folder.
After you pressed the "EDIT" button, e-Licensing will take you back to the Request Detail input screen to allow you to update the necessary information.
Our e-Licensing development team will do our best to make our website to be most user friendly, feel free to email us for any further questions you might have.
